How to Reach
By Air:
The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, about 240 km from Kedarnath and 310 km from Badrinath. Taxis and buses are available from the airport. Helicopter services to Kedarnath are also available from Phata, Guptkashi, and Sersi.
By Train:
The nearest railway stations are Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun. These stations are well-connected to major Indian cities. From there, taxis and buses operate to Sonprayag (for Kedarnath) and Badrinath.
By Road:
Do Dham is well-connected by road from Delhi Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun. Government and private buses, shared jeeps, and taxis are available. Kedarnath requires a 16–18 km trek from Gaurikund, while Badrinath is directly accessible by road.
Best Time to Visit – Do Dham
- May to June: Pleasant weather, ideal for pilgrimage and sightseeing.
- September to October: Clear skies and comfortable temperatures after the monsoon, making it another excellent time to visit.
- July to August (Monsoon): Travel is generally not recommended due to heavy rainfall and the risk of landslides.
- November to April: The temples remain closed because of heavy snowfall.
